The loan so far
The winter transfer deadline day loan signing of former Nigeria International, Odion Ighalo have so far proven to be a good investment. Though a large section of the media and fans never quite agreed with move by the United hierarchy.
Odion Ighalo eventually made his Manchester United debut in a 2-0 win over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge. He came very close to scoring a debut goal in the closing stages of the match only to be denied by Willy Caballero.
However, there was no denying Odion Ighalo his first goal for United when the Red Devils faced Derby County away from home, scoring in the six yard box from a Juan Mata cut back.

Ighalo continued from the bench against Watford but failed to get on the score sheet, but was on hand to score for Manchester United in the 5-0 demolition of Club Brugge in the Europa League. This was followed up by a goal and an assist against Lask Linz.
Coincidentally, Odion Ighalo‘s arrival at Old Trafford, have sparked a run of good results for Manchester United, with the club yet to lose any game the Nigerian have played in.

1. He will have lots of suitors when his contract with Manchester United is over.
According to Goal’s Abu Sule, Ighalo could earn a big money move to clubs around Europe, who are in dire need of the services of a good striker, this includes the likes of Chelsea FC, Spanish Giants Real Madrid and Barcelona who are all looking for back up striking options.
2. He is at the Prime and brings experience to the squad
Ighalo is one of the most senior players in the squad, the 30year old is therefore, a player that is full of experience having featured for Premier League side Watford. Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer hinted the club is open to signing the player on a permanent basis. Suggesting that Ighalo offers something different to what Martial and Rashford offer on the pitch as reported by Manutd.com.
3. He is a cheaper alternative to other strikers linked with the Club
According to Sportbible, Ighalo’s parent club have reportedly offered him a 400,000 pounds per week deal not to join United permanently, though they are also open to selling him for a fee in the region of 15million pounds.
This will come as a cheap alternative for Manchester United, who have being constantly linked with a move for Harry Kane who will cost no less than a 10 times the fee Shenghai Shenhua is demanding.

A permanent move to Old Trafford, will be a win win for both player and club. Ighalo is definitely enjoying his time at the club he supported as a Child. He has scored 4 times and laid a further 2 assists in 8 games.
