The Lactics faced Hull City in a dead rubber clash as the host remain 7 points off the playoff spot. They faced Hull City expecting a win to narrow the gap between them and 6th placed Cardiff City.
Nigeria International, Leon Balogun was named in the starting line up alongside Cedric Kipré for the 7th time this season. Wigan started on a bright note as they scored the first goal in the first minute through Kal Smith off an assist from former Everton Player, Kieran Dowell.
They soon made the scoreline 2-0 when Kieffer Moore Scored. Dowell pictured above soon got into scoresheet by scoring the third goal. Jamal Lowe who was responsible for two assists on the night got his name on a scoresheet with a well taken strike.
Dowell, Moore and Joe Williams all scored to make it 7-0 by half time as Wigan cruised to a well deserved big lead over the Tigers.
The second half started in very contrasting fashion, as there was no further goals in the early stages, but Kieran Dowell was still on hand to score again In the 65th minute to make it 8-0.
Nigeria ‘Oyinbo’ Balogun played 78 minutes of the encounter as he was replaced by Milhai Alexandru Dobre.
