DEBATE: Who is the Greatest African Player of all Time?

One of the popular debate around the World of Sports is on the topic; Who is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT)?

The debate is popular in the Basketball, with many Basketball lovers saying Michael Jordan was the greatest while others stick out their neck for Kobe Bryant and so on.
In same vane, Football lovers have also debated over who the greatest player of all time should be, with many choosing Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldo De Lima, Maradona etc.

The focus of this article is particularly on who the Greatest of all Time is in Africa.

7. Kolo Toure

The Ivorian who played for Arsenal, Liverpool FC and Scottish side Celtic, before retirement has an enviable collection of trophies. He was a member of the Arsenal invisible side that took the EPL by storm and won the Title without suffering a single loss. He played primarily as a centre half.

Kanu Nwankwo came into limelight in the early 90s and became popular with many after his exploits with the Nigeria Olympic team that won gold at the Atlanta 96 Olympics. He represented Ajax, Arsenal Intermillan and Portsmouth amongst others.

Yaya Toure played for Olympiacos in 2006, until Barcelona signed him up and since then the player have amassed so much titles to his name. He had a wonderful spell at Manchester City where he netted 20+ goals in a record breaking season for him in 2013.

Samuel Eto’o started his career at Mallorca, he was well know for the time spent at Barcelona and Intermillan. Where he won the UEFA Champions League title and several League titles. He also won the AFCON title with the Cameroon National team. He also played for Chelsea FC and had several spells in Turkey.
