OPINION: PSG’s LOSS is Chelsea’s GAIN

Le Parisiens signed Thiago Silva from AC Milan in the Summer of 2012 alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic after making 93 appearances for the Milan based side between 2009 and 2012.

After making 204 appearances for PSG, the club decided to release Thiago Silva who was undoubtedly a leader and a brain behind the success of the team during his eight years stay with the club.

The decision of Thiago Silva to join Chelsea FC following the expiration of his contract came as a shock to many, including even the Blue’s own supporters. Following PSG’s loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final courtesy of a former steward, Kingley Coman in Lisbon, Thiago Silva took out time to study his options and decided to join Chelsea FC.

Chelsea FC have since announced the signing of the Legendary centre half who have a wealth of experience that will surely be of high value to this young Chelsea squad.

At age 35, what he brings to this Chelsea side is shere experience and winning mentality since he is a winner with several Clubs he has represented during the course of his time with them and this is where PSG incured a big loss with their decision to allow him join Chelsea FC.

Since Thiago Silva left the French Capital outfit, they have failed to win any of their two opening games in the Ligue Un, they fell to a surprise 1 – 0 to Lens in what was their opening game of the season this was quite understandable owing to the fact that key members of the squad were not available for selection amid rumours of a Coronavirus outbreak at the club.

A few days later, the Parisians faced Marseille at home and this time were also beaten by the same scorelines with three players sent off.

The PSG players were out of control, like sheep without a Shepherd and we’re duly punished for that as key players Neymar and Di Maria saw red on a cold night in Paris.

The lost leadership qualities in this PSG team which can be attributes to the departure of Thiago Silva means Chelsea FC now have a defensive Marshal who sees all that happens on the pitch from the back.

Thiago Silva once claimed that when he shouts even Zlatan Ibrahimovic listens, such was the Charisma of the newest Blues recruit.

Thiago Silva is reported to have started taking intensive English lessons online. Though the imminent move of Mendy might mean that Chelsea now have a backline of French speaking players such as Edouard Mendy, Zouma, Azplicueta and Ngolo Kante including Thiago Silva himself.

Congratulations Chelsea FC fans you got yourselves the right leader. PSG will have to look inwards for a new leader now.
