Tomori to join Rennes on loan as part of the deal that will bring Mendy to Chelsea

The Blues have being in the market for a shot stopper, they were linked to several goal keepers but finally settled for Edouard Mendy. The Goal keeper have being reported to cost the Blues no less than £25million but such a fee will now significantly be reduced with Rennes demanding Tomori, be included the deal that sees their priced asset leave.

The arrival of Thiago Silva means that Chelsea FC players especially the defenders now have to fight for just one of the centre back role if Lampard was to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation he employed against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Once the former Paris Saint Germain captain is fit, he is set to be a regular for the Blues and hence, Tomori, Rudiger, Zouma and Christensen will all have to fight for one spot at the back meaning the Blues will have to get rid of one player to keep everyone happy.

Tomori was initially linked with a loan switch to Everton, but with the Evertonians making several signings, it remains very unlikely that they will sign Tomori again.

Rennes who are still working out modalities as regard the sales of Edouard Mendy to Chelsea FC, once made an outrageous request that Olivier Giroud be added to the deal for the goal keeper. Chelsea were very quick to quash such suggestion.

According to Skysport’s reporter Simon Johnson via his verified twitter handle, have now reported this morning, that Rennes now wants Tomori as part of the Edouard Mendy deal.

He has this to say “Can confirm Rennes remain interested in signing Tomori on loan from #CFC – wrote about their interest last month. Reports in France suggest Ligue 1 club have now asked for the defender as part of the Mendy deal. I still expect the keeper to make the move to Chelsea soon.”

Remember that Edouard Mendy was recommended to Chelsea FC by former shot stopper, Peter Cech who is at the club as part of the Club’s Recruitment handlers.

Question: Do you think including Tomori in the Edouard Mendy deal is a good decision especially with Rudiger still at the Club?
