The Green Bay Packers had a successful season, going 11-6 and finished third in the NFC North before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 22-10 in the wild-card game.
For the third consecutive season, the team has failed to produce a 1,000-yard wide receiver, with Davante Adams finishing last in 2021 with 1,553 yards. In an attempt to address this, Henry McKenna thinks that the Packers will sign wide receiver Stefon Diggs and combine him with quarterback Jordan Love. “Diggs’ days as a WR1 are likely over – man, that happened fast, didn’t it? – but in the Packers offense, he could put together a respectable 1,000-yard season,” said the author. “He’d also bring some veteran consistency to a receivers group that needs exactly that.”
Diggs was limited to only eight starts for the Houston Texans in 2024 because to a torn ACL, but he was nonetheless productive, totaling 47 receptions, 496 yards, and three touchdowns on 64 targets.
If Diggs can revert to his former form, which included eight consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 2018 to 2023 and four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 2020 to 2023, he would be a significant addition to the Packers and Love’s roster. Green Bay would need to break out the cash to get him, since his market value is at $13.5 million per year.
