One of the most interesting moves in free agency for the Pittsburgh Steelers has been the addition of former Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill. Thornhill comes to the Steelers are two lackluster seasons with the woeful Browns and you can tell he is ready for a change.
The video of Thornhill below has gone viral of him throwing the Browns hat to the side and transitioning to a Steelers hat, Terrible Towel and Renegade blasting in the background. Thornhill is ready to be a Steeler.
Thornhill is an interesting addition to a safety depth chart of Minkah Fitzpatrick and DeShone Elliott. Damontae Kazee is a free agent and we assume Thornhill replaces him as the primary backup at both safety spots. The Steelers like to employ three safeties in their sub packages and Thornhill is going to be a strong addition for a defense looking to improve against the run.
