In their efforts to rebuild from a 4-13 season in 2024, the Patriots hosted Diggs for a visit, which included dinner with team staff, a physical examination, and meetings to discuss a potential contract. Despite these discussions, Diggs left without reaching an agreement.
With approximately $65 million in remaining salary cap space, the Patriots are strategically considering further acquisitions. Options include targeting second-tier free agents, exploring trade possibilities for players like wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk or A.J. Brown, and allocating funds for future expenses such as draft picks and roster bonuses.
