The Indianapolis Colts have already completed a significant amount of their Top 30 pre-draft visits, with the 2025 NFL Draft less than two weeks away.
A recent Top 30 visit included a prospect expected to hear his name called in the first round, though it would be shocking for the Colts to use the 14th pick on him.

The Colts hosted Ohio State’s Josh Simmons for a Top 30 visit. Simmons is viewed as one of the top tackles in the 2025 NFL Draft class. For some, he is the number one tackle in the class. He certainly has the talent, but the injury concern will cause some teams to hesitate to use their first-round pick on him.
He’s coming off a strong career at Ohio State with him being a three-year starter, one year at right tackle, and the past two seasons as the Buckeye’s left tackle. Since making the change to left tackle, he has played 19 total games and only allowed one sack in 2023. He only played six games in 2024 before suffering a season-ending knee injury, but in his 306 snaps at left tackle, he didn’t allow a single sack or quarterback hit and was only credited with allowing one pressure.
Simmons’ knee injury is significant enough that I think a team like the Colts that needs a day-one contributor likely couldn’t use their first on him. That, to me, says this Top 30 visit was probably used for the team to get a better understanding of where he is in his recovery, to see if they wanted him to be a trade back option or possibly even a second round target if his injury causes him to fall out of the first surprisingly.
