BREAKINGS: Matthew Stafford nearly led the Rams to the NFC Championship last year, but under the surface, it wasn’t one of his best seasons.

Matthew Stafford nearly led the Rams to the NFC Championship last year, but under the surface, it wasn’t one of his best seasons.

🔹 His 2024 passing grade was the second-lowest in the past nine years

🔹 He posted his worst turnover-worthy play rate since 2017

🔹 The Rams had the 3rd-worst pass-blocking unit in the league

Stafford still has the arm talent and football IQ to compete with anyone, but at this stage of his career, clean pockets are everything. When protected, he’s still a top-tier quarterback, but under pressure last season, he was among the league’s worst.

With improvements on the offensive line, a healthier interior, veteran presence at center, and Jackson re-signed, the conditions are set for a true Stafford resurgence.

If the Rams can give him time, Stafford can give them one last elite season.

Can LA protect the veteran long enough to make another deep playoff run?
