The Vikings officially announced today that Justice Alan Page, Hall of Fame defensive tackle and longtime Minnesota Supreme Court justice, has joined the team as a Senior Coaching and Culture Advisor. The announcement was made in front of an electric crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium, where fans and team officials gathered for the team’s “Legends & Legacy” event.
Page, now 80, played for the Vikings from 1967 to 1978 and was a cornerstone of the legendary “Purple People Eaters” defense. He was the first defensive player in NFL history to win league MVP honors (1971) and has since become equally respected for his work in law, education, and civil rights.
Head coach Kevin O’Connell called it a “historic day” for the franchise.
