In a major development for the city’s growing sports scene, the Pardes de San Diego Rising board has officially approved a $70.8 million stadium renovation project, set to begin in early 2025. The announcement was made during a press conference held earlier today at City Hall, with city officials, club executives, and community leaders present.
The renovation project, aimed at transforming the current home stadium into a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue, marks one of the largest investments in local sports infrastructure in over a decade. According to club president Javier Morales, the renovation will “elevate the fan experience, enhance safety, and bring modern amenities to match the ambitions of the team and the community.”
Key Features of the Renovation:
- Expanded Seating Capacity: From 22,000 to 30,000, including new VIP suites and premium club seating.
- Modernized Facilities: Upgraded locker rooms, media centers, and training areas for players and staff.
- Sustainability Upgrades: Installation of solar panels, water-efficient landscaping, and LEED-certified construction practices.
- Fan Experience Enhancements: Larger concourses, high-speed Wi-Fi, new food and beverage vendors, and digital ticketing systems.
- Community Spaces: Public plazas, youth training zones, and local business kiosks surrounding the stadium.

Funding and Timeline
The $70.8 million budget will be sourced through a mix of public-private partnerships, with the city contributing $25 million, and the remaining $45.8 million financed through private investors, naming rights deals, and club revenue.
Construction is expected to begin in February 2025, with completion targeted for the start of the 2026 season. During the renovation period, the team will temporarily play home games at Snapdragon Stadium.
