‘I knew they were gonna try to add some bs to this’ – Joe Milton fires back after his comments about the Patriots go viral

Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton is firing back after comments he made about the New England Patriots, his former team, went viral last week.

Milton, who was traded from the Patriots to the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason, seemed to suggest that no one went out of their way to help him when he was in New England.

“Dak is a great leader…All respect to him. He literally goes out of his way to help me, no matter if the coach is talking in the meeting, he literally goes out of his way to help,” said Milton (via DallasCowboys.com). “I’ve been in another building. I know how that goes. It’s just very different over here.

Milton was in a quarterback room last season with Drake Maye (who, like Milton, was a rookie in 2024) and veteran Jacoby Brissett.

The former Vol took to Instagram to address the backlash surrounding his comments.

“I knew they were gonna try and add some bs to this,” wrote Milton. “Like my dawg Drake Maye cool ash. [I] don’t have nun against em at all [and] I’m other than bro, like y’all manking (sic) something out of nothing.”

Milton’s original comments seemed very specific. He’s only been in one other quarterback room, and he clearly said that it wasn’t like that (helpful) in the other building he’s been in. There wasn’t anything added to the comments — it’s what he said. Maybe he meant it differently, but I’m not sure how else folks are supposed to take that comment.
