Former Rabbitohs emerging talent Darcy Feltham will line-up for the Penrith Panthers’ SG Ball side this weekend after making the switch to the rival NRL club. Feltham is a highly-touted fullback coming through the rugby league ranks having featured for the South Sydney’s Harold Matthews Cup side across the last two years.
Feltham won the player of the season award in 2024 with the talented fullback also garnering the attention of rugby union officials. The youngster was named in the Rabbitohs SG ball squad for the 2026 season in the summer, but will line-up for Penrith’s side this weekend having been named in the No.1 jersey for the game this Saturday.
Penrith’s recruitment of Feltham is another win for their junior academy with the promising star having represented both codes at the junior level. The fullback also represented the Waratahs’ U-16s team.
This will be Feltham’s first season up in grades and shows he is highly-rated within the rugby league community. Feltham joins a number of strong fullbacks at the Panthers with the academy the backbone of Penrith’s success across the last five years. This is a boost for the Panthers who now boast one of the more talented emerging fullbacks in the game.
The Panthers also signed young back Tyler Pekan ahead of the 2026 season. He will line-up alongside Feltham this weekend on the wing. The loss of Feltham is a blow for the Rabbitohs in the wake of their stunning signing of Payne Haas from the Broncos from 2027.
