Coventry City skipper set to miss first return to CBS Arena amid season ending injury…

Former Coventry City skipper Ben Sheaf looks unlikely to be making a first return to the CBS Arena this term after suffering what appears to be a season-ending injury

The 27-year-old was sold to promotion hopefuls Wrexham in the summer for a reported £6.5m – a fee many fans felt was good business by the Sky Blues given the former Arsenal prospect’s injury issues

Since joining the Racecourse Ground Sheaf has made 24 Championship starts and three appearances from the bench but Saturday’s impressive 5-3 victory over Ipswich Town looks to have been his last for a while.

Forced off as early as the 17th minute following a block tackle, manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed that the classy midfielder will now be side-lined for a sustained period.

As much as there was a feeling of excitement after the win; the coaching staff and I had that always in the back our minds.
