Even though the 2025 NFL Draft class for quarterbacks is considered weak, the Steelers have been doing their homework on that group, keeping a close eye on potential prospects. While many are focusing on Rodgers as the immediate fix, the front office knows the need for depth and future planning remains critical. One player who has drawn increasing attention is Shedeur Sanders, whose stock may fall slightly heading into the draft. If Sanders drops to the Steelers’ pick at No. 21, the team may have a tough decision to make. The Steelers have other needs but if Sanders is available at 21, they may have to take the gamble.
Former Steelers defensive back Ryan Clark sent a bold message to General Manager Omar Khan while speaking on ESPN on Tuesday. “If Shedeur Sanders does happen to slip past number nine and you have the opportunity to move up. If the Saints and Kellen Moore decide to go a different route, make it happen Omar Khan,” Clark said. “Sell the farm. Sell Mel Blount’s farm and his ranch. Sell his horses, and let’s go get Shedeur Sanders.”
