Pickens, a second-round pick in 2022, has flashed elite potential in Pittsburgh, known for his contested catches and fiery demeanor. While his time with the Steelers was marked by both promise and frustration, the 23-year-old wideout still managed to rack up over 1,800 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns in his first two seasons. Concerns about chemistry and consistency may have played a role in Pittsburgh’s willingness to move on.
For Dallas, the trade signals an all-in mentality. Pairing Pickens with CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks gives quarterback Dak Prescott another explosive weapon and deepens the team’s offensive arsenal. Team owner Jerry Jones was reportedly instrumental in finalizing the trade, believing Pickens’ upside outweighs the risks. “George brings that edge and physicality that fits the Star,” Jones said in a statement. “We believe he’ll thrive in this environment.”
