“Thank You DC4: Derek Carr Retires, Leaving a Lasting Legacy in Silver & Black”……

In a heartfelt and emotional moment for the Las Vegas Raiders and their fans, longtime quarterback Derek Carr—affectionately known as DC4—has officially announced his retirement from the NFL due to a lingering shoulder injury. Despite determined efforts to return to peak form, Carr’s body ultimately couldn’t allow him to compete at the level he once did.

Though he didn’t conclude his NFL journey the way he envisioned—finishing his career with the New Orleans Saints—Carr gave everything he had to the game, and more importantly, to the Silver & Black.

A Legacy Etched in Raiders History

Derek Carr leaves behind an unforgettable legacy in Raiders lore. Across 11 NFL seasons, Carr rose to become one of the most decorated quarterbacks in franchise history. He earned:

4 Pro Bowl Selections (the last Raiders QB to achieve the honor)

2 Playoff Appearances under two different respected coaches—Jack Del Rio and Rich Bisaccia

All-Time Franchise Records in nearly every major quarterback statistical category

Carr also became the first and only Raiders QB to lead the team to the playoffs in both Oakland and Las Vegas—cementing his unique place in the organization’s history.

More Than Just Numbers

Derek Carr’s career was filled with ups and downs, including navigating through numerous coaching changes and team instability. Despite the obstacles, he always represented the Raiders with class, toughness, and unwavering loyalty. While he didn’t enjoy a long playoff run or a Super Bowl appearance, his leadership and perseverance earned him the respect of the entire Raider Nation.

His career, by many accounts, exceeded expectations—especially when compared to that of his older brother. Carr leaves the game with his head held high, knowing he gave the franchise everything he had.

A Raider Forever

Though his journey ended far from how he or fans hoped, Derek Carr’s impact on the Raiders organization is indelible. He’s widely considered among the Top 5–10 Greatest Quarterbacks in franchise history.

To DC4: Thank you for your heart, your loyalty, and the unforgettable moments. Raider Nation salutes you.
