Craig McRae highlights Isaac Quaynor in his post-match speech after victory over Adelaide
Teammates cheered loudly when the coach from Collingwood mentioned the defender.
After the Magpies’ amazing win against Adelaide in the qualifying final last week, Collingwood coach Craig McRae gave special recognition to Isaac Quaynor.
Quaynor faced a homophobic comment from Adelaide player Izak Rankine during a game on August 16, and was booed by fans throughout the match, which was an upsetting situation.

Even with the negative reactions from the crowd, Quaynor showed great resilience and delivered one of the best performances of his career.
He caught the ball six times and had 16 disposals, with six of those being interceptions. He also made three excellent spoils.
However, it was his crucial spoil in the last minute of the game, when the Magpies had a strong lead, that McRae highlighted.
In a video shared by Collingwood on Monday, McRae was seen applauding the defender’s impressive spoil.
The room filled with cheers for their teammate as McRae continued speaking.
“This is going to be some awesome footage to show you when we’re back on Tuesday,” McRae mentioned during his speech after the game.
“‘Q’, where are you, buddy? I’m really proud of you, man.
“In the last moment, we were on the bench celebrating. There were 24 seconds left, and then you made this amazing play and put in so much effort. ”
McRae also complimented Brayden Maynard for his tackle right at the end, which led to a heated exchange with Ben Keays.
