Leeds United’s deadline day fizzled out quickly as Daniel Farke failed to get any more players through the door on Monday
18-year-old Leonard Ngenge was also brought in, from Nigerian side Remo Stars, but he will be joining up with the academy to continue his development.
Despite the fact that Farke still had targets on the final day of the window, the deadline passed without any major action for the Elland Road outfit.
Leeds fail to get goalkeeper signing over the line
In the closing stages of the winter transfer window, it became clear that Farke wanted a new goalkeeper.
Both Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow have looked less than comfortable in the Premier League this season, but Leeds were unable to bring in an alternative option.
According to Leeds Live, sources within Elland Road point to the fact that there are already four keepers in the squad, Illan Meslier and Alex Cairns, along with Darlow and Perri.

They are already overstocked in that position, and signing a fifth shot-stopper would have been a “bizarre” decision.
Instead, it was the Whites’ inability to offload Meslier last summer which restricted their chances of strengthening their goalkeeping department in the winter window.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has not played a single minute this term and is now likely to leave at the end of the season on a free transfer.
Daniel Farke’s transfer request ignored
At the start of January, Leeds did not have a new goalkeeper on their radar, with Perri still the number one.
However, after several errors against Manchester United and Newcastle, the Brazilian was relegated to the bench, with Darlow given a chance in the team.
Leeds Live add that it is unknown whether Farke’s request for a new shot-stopper came at the start of the window before Perri had been dropped, or after the 28-year-old’s high-profile mistakes.
Either way, the higher-ups at Elland Road clearly decided that the German has enough goalkeeping options to keep the Whites in the Premier League, and the situation will likely be reassessed in the summer.
