JUST IN: The Dolphins vs Penrith Panthers clash in NRL Round 7 has been officially rescheduled, with league officials confirming two primary reasons behind the late decision.
The first reason is severe weather conditions that have made the playing surface unsafe. Persistent heavy rain over the past several days has left the field waterlogged and slippery, significantly increasing the risk of injuries such as muscle strains, ligament damage, and dangerous slips during high-speed play.
Ground staff worked extensively to improve conditions, but inspections revealed that the surface would not meet the NRL’s required safety standards in time. With player welfare a top priority, officials determined that postponing the match was the most responsible course of action.
The second key factor is team health and player availability concerns. Reports indicate that a number of players from both squads have been dealing with illness and minor injuries, impacting team readiness and competitiveness.
